Greysouthen, Cumbria
The quiet village of Greysouthen (pronounced: "Grey-soon"), lies three miles to the west of Cockermouth. Right on the edge of the Lake District National Park, it makes an ideal base for exploring the northern & western areas of Cumbria and the Lake District. It is approx. 30 miles from junction 40 of the M6.

Nearby Cockermouth has a number of attractions including Wordsworth House, Jennings Brewery, interesting Georgian architecture and numerous independent shops, galleries, cafes & pubs.
Greysouthen is approx. 9 miles from the port of Whitehaven, 8 miles from Ennerdale Water, 8 miles from Bassenthwaite Lake, 7 miles from Loweswater and 12 miles from Keswick. There are many places for walking in the area, including the Solway Coast (6 miles) and Whinlatter Forest (8 miles).
