What our guests say:
A selection from our visitors books:.
- "Great, comfortable modern accommodation. We loved the decor. Despite the weather (what happened to the predicted hot summer?!) we still managed to see lots during our stay. The views and scenery in the Lake District surpassed both our expectations. Sadly not too many heights were reached on foot after realising my fear of heights includes mountains (or big hills as an experienced climber informed me !) Despite this we do plan on returning and would stay at the Stables again without hesitation. Many thanks."

- "We have all enjoyed a wonderful holiday here. We have celbrated a special birthday, and think it may now become an annual event ! We found the cottage very spacious even for a family of 5. All the beds are comfy!! Mum says the cottage is very easy to keep tidy & clean and the kitchen is "well kitted out". Thank you for the surprise welcome gift, mum dad & grandma enjoyed the fizz and my brother and I demolished the chocs !! "

- "Thank you for the bubbly & biscuits. We have really enjoyed our stay in this lovely clean, comfy accommodation. We have visited Maryport, Penrith, Keswick and Workington all of which are nice places to visit. There are plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants in Cockermouth that are worth a visit. We had a meal at the Tithe Barn which was really good, well worth the money, also The Brown Cow. If you like curry, have a meal at the Spice Club, really good food. This was a 10th wedding anniversary treat to ourselves and we had a lovely time. Hope to come back again soon. "
- J & S
- "Had a wonderful time. So much to do. This place is away from the commercial side of `the lakes` and that makes it very special. It has everything. A cosy cottage
in lovely surroundings with easy access to anywhere you want to visit. Our sons liked the nearby park with `football nets`. We would normally travel to find this.
We all loved `Go Carting` at Maryport (at very cheap rates). There is a carboot/ farmers market in Silloth (Sundays) and a wonderful deserted beach. The walk around Ennerdale was very refreshing and the surrounding area reflects all.
Only had to go into Keswick once for the swimming pool which had a wavepool and a slide with a black hole !
We strongly recommend this place."

- "Lovely cottage, great location for many attractions. High standard & good value."

- "Lovely, clean, modern house in a good location. Had a packed week. One day did a circular trip past Buttermere to Keswick with stops along the way. Beautiful, dramatic landscapes. Got lots of photos. Another day did a circular trip past Coniston and up the inside of Windermere. At "Lakeside" went to the aquarium and after that spotted Vernon from Coronation St taking a boat trip. Have visited the coastal aquarium at Maryport, Ravenglass Steam Railway & wildlife park at Dalton-in-Furness. Went Osprey spotting at the other side of Bassenthwaite, which is a highlight. Have seen a lot of birds of prey on our travels and some red squirrels. Also went to Aira Force ans Ullswater. Very hard to find cash machines in some places so best to make sure you get plenty out when you can find one. Thanks for a great holiday.!

- "Had a fantastic week great location only 30/40 mins from everywhere we wanted. Finally did Helm Crag after seeing it on Wainwright`s Walks. Easdale tarn very recommended if you have kids who are not too keen, it`s very easy and a gradual walk. The girls loved walking back on the stepping stones all across the marshy fell. Ravenglass railway is a great day out and either at the start or the end there are some fantastic walks. We went to Stanly Ghylls waterfall, amazing, with a picnic on the riverbank. Have left some information leaflets of some lovely places to go, hope everyone has as good an adventure as we have."
